Abstract:

The course Mathematical Software is obligatory. The main aim is to develop skills for applying different kinds of mathematical software (GeoGebra, Maple, Mathematica, MathLab) in students’ learning and scientific self-work and to stimulate creative and critical thinking.

Course content:

Introduction in GeoGebra, Maple, Mathematica, MathLab. Examples from Linear Algebra, Analitic Geometry, Mathematical Analysis, School Algebra, Geometry and Analysis whit respect to the possibilities of every kind of mathematical software. Problems for self-work.

Teaching and assessment:

The training process is realized through practical classes. Each student prepares four course papers (self-works) including particular mathematical problems. The students solve the problems via appropriate learned mathematical software and presents them to the lecturers. The final grade is arithmetic average of four students’ grades.
