Abstract:
The aim of the course is to provide students with information and skills about the characteristics and applications in Mathematics education of new Dynamic Geometry Software and Computer Algebra Systems.
Course content:
Main characteristics, aims, principles, applications in Mathematics education based on the usage of: 1) Computer Algebra Systems (Maple); 2) Dynamic Geometry Software (GeoGebra, GeoNext, Geometry Sketchpad, Japanese Educational Software, etc.).
Teaching assessment:
The lectures present the syllabus topics. Practice sessions help students to develop their knowledge and skills into educational software usage. The students have individual tasks – developing projects which include: Mathematics theory, problems on different levels, Mathematics educational tools based on Dynamic Geometry Software and/or Computer Algebra Systems and instructions for their application in students training. The final grade is based on а tests and the quality of the project developed.
